Spring is starting to settle in, and here in Amarillo, the days are getting warmer, brighter, and more full of life. It’s a good time to slow down and pay attention to what matters most. At Amarillo Fellowship Church, we’ve been walking through our Love + Hope series, and it’s been stirring up real reflection. Week 5 brings us a message from Christian Brown that helps us see how love and hope work together in ways we might not always notice.
This part of the series brings us closer to Easter, which makes it that much more meaningful. Christian talks about how these two ideas, love and hope, aren’t just words we say out loud. They show up in the ways we live, care for others, and keep going through things that feel heavy. As we think about the season ahead, and what Easter means, it’s a great time to look more closely at where love and hope show up in real life.
What Love Really Looks Like
We talk about love a lot, but it’s easy to forget that love isn’t just a feeling or something we say. It’s something we do. It shows up in small, steady ways. When we help somebody without asking anything in return. When we choose kindness over anger. When we keep showing up even when we’re tired.
That’s the kind of love we see in Jesus, especially during his last days. He didn’t stop loving, even when people turned on him. Even when it was painful. He forgave, he served, and he kept reaching out. That kind of love doesn’t come easy, but it’s the kind of love we’re asked to show.
This week, we can try putting that love into action. Maybe that means listening to someone who just needs to talk. Maybe it looks like helping at home without being asked. These small things matter, and they add up. Anyone can say “I love you,” but when we act out of love, people feel it in a real way.
One way members of Amarillo Fellowship put love into practice is by participating in Serve Days and outreach opportunities that support families across Amarillo.
Holding onto Hope When Days Feel Heavy
Hope can feel hard to grab onto some days. When life feels out of control, or we’re carrying things that seem too heavy, it’s easy to let discouragement slip in. But Christian Brown reminded us that hope isn’t just wishing things would get better. It’s believing in something solid that doesn’t change.
Even when everything else feels shaky, God stays the same. His promises don’t fade, and his care doesn’t stop showing up. That’s the kind of hope that doesn’t disappear when problems show up, it sticks with us through it.
To keep that kind of hope strong, sometimes we need reminders. A verse we read each morning. A quick prayer at lunch. A quiet walk when the day feels too loud. These little things can help push back the clouds and keep our eyes set on what matters.
On Sundays, Amarillo Fellowship Church offers messages and worship that remind us of God’s faithfulness and ongoing hope, helping our community stay anchored even during difficult times.
What Happens When Love and Hope Work Together
When love and hope show up in the same space, something powerful happens. They lift each other. Love gives us reason to keep going, and hope gives the strength to keep loving, especially when it gets hard.
We see it in small ways.
- A teacher who stays kind, even with tough students.
- A neighbor who brings over a meal without needing thanks.
- A friend who keeps showing up when everything feels upside down.
That mix of love and hope brings light into ordinary places.
It’s worth noticing these moments. Where have we seen love and hope show up lately? At school? At home? In a quiet moment at the grocery store? These are signs that God is still working all around us.
Christian Brown’s Message: Living It in Real Time
Christian Brown brought these ideas to life this week in a fresh way. He talked about how love and hope can be practiced right now, not someday far off. His words reminded us that we don’t have to have everything figured out to start living with purpose.
Some parts of his message stuck with us, like how hope isn’t only for when things get better, but for the middle of the mess too. Or how love looks ordinary most of the time, but that makes it no less valuable. When we hear these reminders, they don’t stay in the building. They follow us into the week.
As we head into Easter soon, Christian’s message helps us think about where we are in our own walk with God. Not where we wish we were, but where we are right now. And maybe that’s right where we need to be to let his love and hope take root.
Living with Love + Hope Into Easter
Easter is almost here, and that means we’re walking into one of the most meaningful times of the year. Week 5 of our series has reminded us that love and hope aren’t just good ideas. They change the way we treat people and the way we face hard moments.
Love helps us give second chances. Hope helps us stand strong. When they’re together, we can keep growing, step by step, even when life doesn’t get easier.
Spring in Amarillo means the days are warming up, trees are starting to leaf out, and the sun stays a little longer each day. It’s a good reminder that new things are always possible. We don’t have to wait for a perfect moment to start living like love and hope matter. We can do it today, with each other, with our neighbors, and within ourselves. As part of Amarillo Fellowship Church, we’re taking that to heart this week.
Continuing the Journey of Love and Hope
As we keep growing in love and hope this season, it helps to stay connected with others who want the same things. Amarillo Fellowship Church encourages everyone to get involved through Sunday gatherings, small groups, and serving opportunities designed to help you walk out faith daily in the Amarillo community.
